Climate change adaptation database

Vietnam is one of the countries most affected by climate change. Climate change has negatively impacted industries, sectors and localities, is an existential threat to the goal of sustainable development, poverty reduction of the country, requires actions to promptly mitigate damage and strengthen climate risk management and disaster prevention.

The development and implementation of the National Adaptation Plan helps to effectively use resources, enhance management and coordination capabilities in finance and technology, and avoid overlaps and duplications, promote the participation of the community, business sector and international organizations in the implementation of adaptation goals in the NDC, contribute to the implementation of the sustainable development goals.

Climate change adaptation is a complex inter-sectoral and inter-regional issue, while experience in adaptation implementation and budget funding are limited; therefore, it is a need for international support in terms of technical assisstance, human resources and finance; especially in activities on assessing climate change impact, determining adaptation solutions for each region, analyzing costs – benefits for groups of sectors and sub-sectors that are vulnerable to climate change impact in Vietnam.
